Helping men become PROVEN™ in the area of sexual integrity and living transformed and renewed lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Proven Men Ministries began in 1999 in response to a great, but frequently secret need. For instance, nearly 20% of men spend at least one hour a day viewing pornography on the Internet. Unfortunately, most men don't know where to turn for help. They are looking not only for answers, but a safe environment. That's where we come in and provide both.

We have discovered that "programs" or "self-help" efforts do not bring about lasting results. In other words, simply using an Internet block will not remove internal struggles to look at pornography. That is because the roots which feed and keep sexual impurity alive remain untreated. However, the more a person puts into place what we refer to as the six aspects of a PROVEN life, the less they feel the tug towards the false intimacy offered by pornography and fantasy. That's also why we developed an intensive 12 week bible-based study named, Striving for Absolute Purity. It shows a person how to implement each aspect of the six PROVEN letters into their daily life, which is the pathway to lasting freedom.

In fact, the very name of Proven Men is based upon the acronym PROVEN standing for these six aspects, consisting of being:

• Passionate for God
• Repentant in Spirit
• Open and honest
• Victorious in living
• Eternal in focus
• Networking with others.

The goal of the study is to position men to meet with God and be changed from the inside out. When their focus and desires change from being self-centered to being passionate for God and embracing the other five aspects of a PROVEN life, then they experience lasting freedom from the bondage to pornography.

Part of the time each day working through the study is spent identifying areas of their lives which are out of control and ways they are not living out their Christian faith. They also learn practical ways of replacing old destructive desires with new healthy desires. The study includes probing questions that go to the heart of matters generally not discussed by men. At the end of each week, a man meets together with other men in PROVEN Men small support groups or with another man, often referred to as an accountability partner. Through this networking, they strengthen and support one another as two men hiking a mountain and sharing common goals.

Those who have used Proven Men materials and experienced lasting victory over addiction to pornography have two things in common. They developed the attitude that (1) pornography is no longer an option, and (2) they are willing to do whatever it takes-God's way this time.

Sooner or later, each man that secretly struggles with sexual sin issues finally realizes that he cannot simply pull himslef up by his bootstraps and is finally ready for help. Meeting with another man to discuss what he is learning and also openly sharing  struggles and victories is an important part of the equation, and represents "networking" part of PROVEN. Without it, most men fade back into old habits and routines incorrectly thinking that they will forever remain stuck in bondage.

That is why Proven Men has such a great burden to make it easy for men or churches everywhere to host small support groups. To foster small groups throughout the country (and overseas) Proven Men developed a very detailed Leader's Guide. It walks a lay person through every aspect of forming and leading a small support group using the 12 week study. It is so detailed that almost anyone with the desire can confidently and effectively lead a group. The comprehensive guide contains detailed meeting notes outlining the structure, topics and most questions for each weekly meeting.

Proven Men Ministries is a 501(c)(3), Christian non-profit ministry dedicating to helping men who struggle with pornography and similar issues. Our ministry helps bring healing to entire families. We also respond to inquiries from wives of men who struggle with sexual purity.

Proven Men has been holding support groups since 1999. Many churches throughout the country have used our study and hold small support groups.

We have provided our study to numerous men worldwide, including soldiers overseas. Those who cannot afford the materials are provided a complimentary copy. We have spoken at men's retreats in the U.S. and even trained dozens of pastors in India.

We are in the process of publishing an updated edition of the 12-week study, which will be available in late 2008. Simultaneously, we are publishing a revised edition of the Leader's Guide. Proven Men Ministries uses the trade name "1 Way Out of Pornography" for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) to highlight our mission.
