John Healy joined the Proven Men team in 2018 to coordinate fundraising efforts and strengthen the relationship between Proven Men donors and the organization.
John has over 15 years of professional experience in nonprofit management and fundraising. Most recently, John served as the Director of Advancement for Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, VA and previously served in direct fundraising roles for the Institute for Shipboard Education which administers the Semester at Sea global study abroad program as well as Miami University in Oxford, OH, his alma mater.
John has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Miami University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Liberty University. John is a native of Iowa, an avid golfer, and has lived in Virginia since 2007 with his wife and twin sons.
When asked about his motivation for joining the Proven Men team, John responded:
“My hope and ongoing prayer is to align my life in the way Paul describes his mission to the elders of the church at Ephesus in Acts:
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God(Acts 20:24)
Having gone through my own battle for sexual integrity and walking alongside other men facing similar struggles through my involvement with Men’s Ministry at my church, I know that the fight to gain and retain sexual integrity is one of the biggest challenges facing the Christian community today.
I believe Proven Men has both the vision and strategy—working with and through local churches—that can make a meaningful difference in this critical fight for purity. Therefore, I am excited to be joining this dynamic team of passionate followers of Christ who are working to bring the powerful truth of the wonderful grace of God to combat the darkness of sexual sin in order to bring healing, freedom, reconciliation, and restoration to everyone and everywhere God calls us.”
Romans 5:1, 6, 9-11
“(1) Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. … (6) When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. … (9) And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. (10) For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. (11) So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
