How a Pastor can use Proven Men
Pressure comes in many forms when a pastor is serving the Lord with great urgency and commitment to Christ. The Apostle Paul attested to this very experience. By his own pen, he confessed he was “pressed in on every side.” The kind of pressure that describes what I would so often experience – as a pastor of 30 plus years – is reflected as, “the feeling of stressful urgency caused by the necessity of doing or achieving something, especially with limited time.” Any pastor reading this knows exactly what I’m talking about. Whether it’s the phone call or the unexpected visit to the office. Every pastor is also familiar with the man who approaches in a panic, in desperate need of help from his sexual addiction. He tells you of his losses due to his addiction to porn and sex and is looking to you for hope and a rescue. This pressure is felt by pastors all over the world.
Here is where Proven Men comes into the story. Before I embraced the Proven Men study, I had experienced this pressure more times than I like to admit. Without Proven Men, I was put into a reactive mode when approached by a panicked man. The hysteria of a man about to lose his wife and children, a man who was fired for surfing the waves of porn at his office computer, a man who is worn out by living in guilt and lies cornered me; not to mention the myriad of broken promises of “never again.”
When I invited Proven Men into the heart of our church, there came a proven pathway for healing, safe disclosure, healthy confession, and a growing number of redeemed men. They were PROVEN men, who were trained and ready to help the never ending line up of brothers experiencing the fallout of sexual addiction.
Proven Men didn’t take away every pressure I would feel upon my heart, but it lifted me – or protected me – from the most prevalent of stressful urgencies caused by men caught in the cancer of sexual addiction. It has radically reduced the number of men who were in hiding and has led hundreds of men into sexual integrity. Because of Proven Men, I am able to minister proactively rather than reactively, and that has exponentially minimized pastoral (psi). If you’re looking for an effective ministry to help you manage the pressure of pastoring, I encourage you – with all that is in me – to contact Proven Men today.
Your Brother in Christ,
Pastor Steve
