About David:

David Walston, CPA, the Founder and CEO of Walston Advisory Firm for the past eight years, David has collaborated with clients to develop financial plans, identify business opportunities, and develop plans to capitalize on them.

Prior to founding Walston Advisory Firm, David served as Chief Financial Officer at Sentient Laser and Brentwood Church. At Sentient Laser, he demonstrated his adeptness in developing and implementing business-wide policies and procedures, leading the team in choosing and implementing a new ERP for the business, and developing financial forecasts. At Brentwood Church, he managed a team to meet reporting deadlines and transitioned the organization from an annual budget planning to a rolling forecast, saving the organization $100k by implementing an expense reporting software.

Earlier in his career, David honed his skills in senior financial analysis at Horizon Behavioral Health and at BWX Technologies, Inc., where he prepared management presentations, developed forecasts, and provided ad-hoc financial analysis. As Treasurer of the Board of Directors at Proven Men Ministries, he partnered with the Executive Director to create financial goals and plans, showcasing his commitment to nonprofit work. David’s career is marked by a continuous effort to increase efficiency, accuracy, and profitability in all his roles.
