The Protector Initiative: Building an Army to Fight the Darkest Battle in the Church
Most ministries don’t talk about this. Most churches won’t touch it. Most Christians assume someone else will fix it.
But pornography, sexual brokenness, and hidden shame are gutting the Bride of Christ from the inside out, and for too long, we’ve tiptoed around the problem while the enemy has run wild.
A decade ago, we made a decision: we were done watching sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, marriages, and entire church communities crumble in silence. We were done pretending this wasn’t our problem. And we were done waiting for a benevolent billionaire or a magical grant fairy to show up and fund the fight.
So we created something different. Something raw, strategic, a little dangerous. Something that sounded more like a special forces unit than a donor list.
We called it The Protector Initiative.
Why We Built a Navy SEAL Team for Sexual Integrity
Let’s be blunt: this work is dark. It’s gritty. Sometimes it’s nasty. Nobody wants a cute commercial with slow-motion puppies and Sarah McLachlan singing in the background about pornography addiction.
You can run a national campaign around rescuing trafficked girls, and praise God for those who do. But you can’t exactly put a broken, isolated man on a refrigerator magnet. And yet…the demand side of sexual exploitation is the root of all of it.
No demand → no porn industry.
No demand → no sex trafficking.
No demand → no marketplaces built on addiction, shame, and secrecy.
That’s the brutal math of evil. And after ten years, I can tell you confidently: We stop the problem at the source — the heart!
We have the stories. We have the lives restored. We have the marriages rebuilt. We have the kids who will grow up with a foundation their parents never had.
But we didn’t have infrastructure. We didn’t have institutional support. We didn’t have the backing that other glossy nonprofits enjoy. It was just us, a God-sized mission, and a whole lot of fire in the tank. So we built our own solution.
What It Means to Be a Protector
The idea came from a pastor we once walked with. He was weeping in one of his first counseling sessions, gut-level honest when he said:
“I’m supposed to be a protector, not a predator!”
That line never left us. So we borrowed it, redeemed it, and built a movement around it.
Protectors are the people who say:
“I’m tired of the enemy having the loudest voice. I’m locking arms with you. Let’s end this.”
It’s not a VIP club. It’s not a donor wall. It’s a team — a frontline unit — where every person gets:
-
Insider access to everything behind the scenes
-
Missions to carry out in their community
-
Personal stories of impact
-
Handwritten updates
-
24/7 access to our staff
-
The coolest swag we’ve ever made
-
A uniform to rep the movement
-
A seat at the table
-
A key to the office (figuratively, but maybe literally one day 😉
-
A direct line into what God is doing
This isn’t “send your money and hear from us next year.” This is you step into the trench with us. Because this battle isn’t seasonal. It’s daily. And it’s brutal.
Why We Need an Army — And Why the Church Isn’t Ready
Here’s the terrifying truth:
Only 12% of churches have anything for sexual integrity!
I wish that number were a typo.
Meanwhile, Christians struggle with pornography at nearly the exact same rate as the world.
We’re supposed to be a city on a hill. But right now we’re more like a ship taking on water.
If we could wave a magic wand and fund Proven Ministries at the level the mission demands, the transformation in the next ten years would be seismic.
We’ve already built the Ferrari — ten years refining the systems, the support, the curriculum, the stewardship, the stories, the outcomes. Every bolt is tightened. Every cylinder fires. Every dollar multiplies into Kingdom impact.
All we need now is fuel in the tank.
Why This Battle Takes Special Forces
Some work in the Kingdom is gentle. Some is pastoral. Some is beautiful.
This work? This is trench warfare.
It’s boots on the ground. It’s late-night calls. It’s stories you can’t believe people survive. It’s marriages on the brink. It’s men and women ready to give up. It’s church cultures stuck in silence.
And yet…
It’s also resurrection. It’s healing. It’s redemption. It’s transformation that makes you stand in awe of the God who sees, restores, and makes all things new.
But to do that work, you need people who don’t faint at the sight of blood. You need protectors. You need the kind of men and women who say — like Wolverine:
I’m the best there is at what I do. And what I do isn’t very nice!
It made us laugh when we said it on the podcast — but it’s true. We go where few are willing to go. And someone has to.
The Invitation
If you’ve read this far, maybe you feel it. That pull. That stirring. That sense that somebody has to stand in the gap.
Maybe God is nudging you and saying:
“It’s your turn.”
For $25/month, you can join the Protector Initiative. For $5/month, you can join the Disruptors. And yes — people join at $50, $100, even $1,000 a month.
But the point isn’t the amount. It’s the commitment. It’s stepping onto the battlefield with us.
We will show you every dollar. Every story. Every victory. Every life God transforms. We will lock arms with you, know you by name, pray for you, and fight with you.
Because we aren’t just donors and staff. We’re a team. A battalion. A movement.
And we’re not done until there is a revival of sexual integrity throughout the entire Bride of Christ.
If you’re ready, CLICK THE LINK. Step into the fight. Become a Protector.
We’re in the darkest part of the battle. And we need you with us!
