Proven Men has created a purity quiz to show you where you are on a scale of sexual purity. We run churches and schools through this assessment, but we want to give it to you for free. So here you go!
Before The Assessment, a quick disclaimer
Purity works on a scale because life isn’t static and we are all in process.
There are not just two options when it comes to sexual integrity — pure or not pure. Lust plays out in many different ways, from pornography, to adultery, to the movies we watch, the posters on our walls, the way we pursue someone we’re interested in, and even in our friendships with the opposite sex. All of these inform our sexual purity and sexual ethics, and all of these reveal where our hearts are at.
What Jesus says about purity
Jesus compels us to examine sexual purity in this broader sense in his famous discipleship teaching, the Sermon on the Mount. Here Jesus tells us that anyone who looks at another person with lustful intent has already taken sexual advantage of that person in their heart (Matthew 5:28).
For most of us, it isn’t if we’ve ever looked at someone with a lustful imagination, but how many times this week we’ve done that.
Jesus calls his followers to a standard of purity that plays out in all of our relationships and in all of our actions. That’s a hard truth about life and ourselves. While that standard gives unbelievable dignity to human beings, who can live up to that standard?
Good News
Of course, the good news is that Jesus’ cross and resurrection have gifted us with a family and with God’s Spirit so that we can practice the beautifully free way of life that Jesus calls us to live.
Living within Jesus’ high teaching on dignity becomes possible through the gospel.
Proven Men has created a tool that will help you along in the Jesus Way. To put it plainly, we’ve created a purity quiz. This evaluation is not binary, it won’t just tell you if you make the cut in purity or if you fail. The quiz will ask you a series of questions and then use your answers to place you on a scale. The results will help you grow within your faith family, spaces of discipleship, and personal confession/reflection time with Jesus.
Feel free to use the quiz in your small groups, with your friends, families, and areas of discipleship!
The assessment averages 3 minutes: Take the quiz here!
